Frequently Asked Questions

How do you add a temporary fencing gate?

In most cases, although this can differ by model and manufacturer, temporary fencing gates usually slip into fencing feet, just like fencing panels.

They attach with fencing couplers to the temp fencing on the outside edge to hold them securely in place.

Unlike the mesh fence panels, however, the inside edge of each fencing gate attaches to one another with a sliding latch, which allows you to close the site to unauthorised access. To make this more secure, you can also thread a padlock and chain through the mesh.

This simple yet secure design means temporary fencing gates are just as easy to install as traditional temp fencing panels while providing easy-to-use access control.

Are temp fencing gates suitable for cars?

Here at Blok ‘N’ Mesh, we stock temporary fence gates for pedestrians and vehicles.

Unlike pedestrian gates which are narrow and generally admit people in single file, vehicle gates comprise two 3.5m fence panels, leaving plenty of room for even the biggest cars to pass through.

Temporary vehicle gates also come in space-saving or swing options, so no matter the size or layout of your site, vehicular access can be allowed.

Once opened, the sliding vehicle gates move laterally on casters to cover the temporary mesh fencing panels on either side, saving precious space. This contrasts with standard vehicle gates which swing outwards.

To order, simply add your chosen fencing gates to your online basket and enjoy rapid nationwide delivery in 2-5 working days. Need to request a specific date for delivery? Call our sales team to confirm and we’ll do our best to deliver on your preferred day.

Can I hire temporary fencing gates ?

Just like temporary fencing panels, temp fencing gates are available for hire if you do not wish to invest in gates of your own at this time.

This applies to all temporary fencing gates, from pedestrian gates with latchpoles to sliding vehicle gates, traditional swing vehicular gates, and secure site entry pedestrian gates.

The reasons companies hire instead of buying essentials like temporary fencing gates vary, including:

  • Short project timeline
  • Smaller project budget
  • Lack of storage options
  • One-time need

Some, however, choose to purchase the temp fencing gates they need, because it suits their business better long-term – it’s really based on your individual requirements.

If you are interested in hiring temporary fencing gates, call our sales team today – they will be able to tell you which gates are available and complete your order over the phone for you if you wish to go ahead.

Do temporary fence gates need to match the brand of temporary fencing?

Handily, most temporary fence manufacturers use a standard format, meaning that if needs be, sections can be mixed and matched. The same is true for temporary fencing gates.

As long as panels and gates are roughly the same height and width and have the same cylindrical legs so they fit inside fence feet, you should be fine to use any brand you have to hand.

This means you can stop delays and use the systems you have without needing to buy new – saving you time and money on each job.

If, however, you find that you are missing elements or your mix-and-match packs are losing structural stability, you may wish to invest in new or ex-hire temp fencing panels and gates.

Timely replacement at the end of their life will ultimately make the lives of your ground team easier, helping you fulfil projects as promised for clients.
